April Fools

Another lovely one came from Signal Radio in Stoke, who claimed that to widen their appeal, the Staffordshire oatcake was to be re-named the oatpancake – which might not mean much to a non-local, but people in Stoke were OUTRAGED. All my friends from home were talking about it on their Facebook – a really lovely gentle April Fools that really maximises on the station’s knowledge of their local area.

The best this year though was Rob Brydon pretending to be Ken Bruce on BBC Radio 2. I had to stop what I was doing, it was so engaging. And quite risque! Very brave of the network to allow that on, and worth it. It really stood out from the otherwise slightly dull obvious pranks from the Newspapers. Listen to it here.
