Delighted to be launching today the first edition of our hyperlocal podcast, Here Be Angels.

The mastermind of the operation is Peckhamite Richard Leeming – who approached me a couple of months ago to pick my brain about podcasting. I jumped at the chance to do more audio, particularly about our local area. A Groucho meeting later and we were joined by another local resident, Sarah Jane Griffiths.

In the first episode I take a look at what makes Lordship Lane one of the most successful local high streets in London, speaking to the proprietors of local butchers William Rose, local fishmongers Moxons and local farmshop and restaurant Franklins. Very nice they were too!

Richard asks if Peckham’s Bellenden Road can match Dulwich’s Lordship Lane and Sarah Jane meets the fantastic Dulwich Ukelele Club.
